The No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act primarily
measures adequate yearly progress (AYP) of particular subgroups
of students in specific areas using test results and requires
schools to have tested nearly all of the students in those
subgroups.
NCLB guidelines for the calculation of AYP are combined
with the students' graduation/completion rates and results
on the FCAT to measure the performance of the overall student
population as well as that of students in defined subgroups:
