Library Media Program
The local school Media Specialist, also known as the Library Information Specialist (LIS), is an integral part of the effort to teach age-appropriate library information skills to the students in the school district.
The school based LIS encourages students in reading for understanding and enjoyment, and ensures a library media program that supports the teachers and their teaching of the curriculum.
Proper use of the information obtained by a student while doing research is as important as the source from which it is taken. The Media and Instructional Technology Department provides subscription services with authoritative electronic databases. These resources are available to students in the Osceola County School District and are provided for curricular enrichment purposes. See the Electronic Resources Home link on the left to find links to these research and reference tools. The school Library Information Specialist will furnish user names and passwords to students for these resources upon request.
