The School District of Osceola County, Florida
District 4
School Board Member
Clarence Thacker

Mission Statement:
"Education which inspires
all to their highest potential."
Clarence graduated from Osceola High School in 1979 and later graduated from Wake Forest University with a bachelor’s degree in Accountancy.

He has been married to Jo for 31 years, and has three children: Celia, an attorney in Kissimmee, Celeste in her third year of law school at the University of Florida, and Henry who will graduate from the University of Florida in December 2014.  All three children graduated from Osceola High School.

Clarence is a life-long resident of Osceola County, and has lived his entire life in the District 4 area of the county -- never living more than a mile from his current home.  He is passionate about Osceola County and its future.  He believes the quality of a community is directly tied to the quality of its public educational system, and that the educational system drives the quality of growth.   “Growth is coming to Osceola County, and we must have a top tier school district to attract better and higher paying jobs to build a sustainable community,” said Clarence Thacker, Osceola County School Board Member.

Clarence spent 25 years with two of the leading educational publishers in the world.   Currently, he consults with large companies on operational and cost efficiency strategies.    He also owns and manages rental homes in Kissimmee and St Cloud.
